The story behind Fillout
Fillout first launched 2 years ago as a basic form builder.
In the months after the release, we quickly learned what we had gotten ourselves into.
You see, the beauty of forms is their simplicity and versatility. They’re used for lead generation, collecting feedback, processing orders, gathering survey data, onboarding partners or anything in between, in any industry.
But the form builders on the market today are just that — form builders.
Solving a real use case end-to-end requires a PhD in duct tape to connect different tools together, leading to increased costs, integration issues and complexity.
Enter the Fillout opportunity.
49 major updates and 3 new products later, we’re making progress on becoming the one-stop-shop for every data intake need.
Fillout now serves 1000s of paying customers and 100k+ teams with native forms, scheduling, payments, workflows and document generation.
Today, a Fillout form is completed every second, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We’re just getting started and have three updates to share.
Fillout 2.0
Firstly, we just launched a full rebrand to better represent what Fillout is today and where we’re headed.
It’s been a huge team effort and long overdue.
Check out it out at fillout.com and let us know what you think.
Our seed round
Secondly, we’re excited to announce our seed fundraising round. Thank you to the people who have backed us since the start of Fillout:
Elad Gil, Nat Friedman, Cristina Cordova, Greg Rosen (Box Group), Gordon Ritter, David Apple, Lachy Groom, Liu Jiang, Dylan Field, Dennis Pilarinos, Jamie Cuffe, Steve Garrity, Eric Liu, Snir Kodesh, Mihika Kapoor, Steven Zhang, Christopher Talley, Hanseul Nam, Grant Rheingold, Ethan Daly, Vignesh Rajendran, Steve Wan, David Dworsky, Theodor Marcu, Prem Nair, Eleanor Dorfman, Ludwig Pettersson
These folks have founded and led companies we admire, like Figma, Github and Linear (to name but a few) and I’m grateful for their belief in us.
Negative lifetime burn
Lastly, we’re proud to share that Fillout has been profitable for the last year and has negative lifetime burn (funds raised < cash on hand).
It’s an important milestone for Fillout because it means we can serve our customers for many years to come, without the need to chase additional capital.
It’s also a testament to our team, our early customers and our partners who took a bet on us and have helped improve Fillout 1000 times over.
Thank you in particular to Dan Leeman, Gareth, Josh Sorenson, Josh Niober, Alex Noles, Derrick Delgado, Chris Dancy, Julien Mottet, Zack Stevenson, Vince Ertveld, Florian Verdonck, Avi Hercenberg and many, many others.
We’ve got big plans ahead, are growing really fast and hiring for several roles. Come with work with us!
